"poppies"
Andrea Mosso, well known figure in Rome transferred to country life near Lecce in Puglia, the southern heel of Italy. These photographs represent an abrupt transition for the photographer, previously producing harder, darker work often concerned with social issues. Here we see a softer side to his work. Poppies the classic ephemeral flower, precursor to summer ,soft ,delicate but with an almost violent blood red colour. Andrea has worked on the idea of expressing the personality of each flower in the same way as a human portrait. These flowers have a life, opinions, emotions they argue, fight, love and play the clown. They demand your attention and be careful - also your respect.
